Purchased by the Central Pacific Railroad (1/2 of the 1st Transcontinental Railroad) in 1868 from Schenectady Locomotive Works; the Leviathan was one of four Locomotives delivered to the CPRR. The four were #60 Jupiter, #61 Storm, #62 Whirlwind and #63 Leviathan. In 2009, David Kloke, owner of Kloke Locomotive Works, LLC., and his crew completed the present day #63 Leviathan. The original Leviathan was a wood burner and had Link and Pin couplers. This replica is an oil burner with knuckle coupler rear, link and pin front. Tender holds about 2,000 gal of water.
